A Thousand Words

A picture is worth a thousand words, or so they say.

I have hundreds, maybe thousands of pictures stored in boxes; slides, prints, and even some mounted or framed. In college I took several photography courses and learned how to develop and print film.

Working on this blog, I began looking at some of the pictures I have. I spent some time in the last few days trying to create a sort of pictorial history for the Slideshow Widget shown in the upper right of the Home page. I learned that there is a ton of pictures of my early life and a fair number in recent years, but there seems to be a dearth in the middle years, the late 1970’s through the 1990’s.

Part of that time was college time, where I was the photographer so few pictures were taken of me that I have. The early 1980’s was time with my first ex. I have some pictures of her but there seem to be very few of me. The late 80’s and 90’s I was a Dad. There are lots of pictures of my child but again, very few of me.

The 90’s and 2000’s were time with my last ex. She was a bit camera shy. There are some pictures of her but not so many. There start to be more pictures of me because I got re-involved with martial arts and there were people now taking some photos of me as I worked or posed with seminar guests or instructors.

Well, this was all just a way of pointing out that I have placed some new pictures in the Pix gallery. They cover a full range, from my very early childhood to the present. Enjoy.
