Django Unchained: Rated R: I thoroughly enjoyed this. Is it racist? No. Set in 1858, two years before the Civil War, the N word was as common as “Hey, you.” In fact, I would say that language plays a very important role in this movie, as derogatory names and language are examined. Is it bloody? Well, it is a Tarantino movie, sure it is bloody. Is it gratuitous? Maybe, but you wouldn’t like it if it wasn’t, at least a little.
It is fun, action packed with several unexpected twists and turns. It is well thought out, well acted, and well directed, having that wonderful Spaghetti Western feel brought up to date. Well worth your time and dollars.
No complaints at all.
