Star Trek Continues

The greatest things do not die. They are passed on. This fledgling series picks up where the original tv series left off. It takes a few moments to get use to the new actors, though Chris Doohan, son of James Doohan, the original Scotty, is amazing. You might also recognize Sulu, played by Grant Imahara, one of the techies from “Mythbusters.”

This is their first webisode, “Pilgrim of Eternity,” and has some interesting turns. They make some interesting additions, such as introducing a holo-deck and a ship’s counselor to the original series. Its style is lifted directly from the original series, so it may not be as action packed or twisty as modern audiences might like. Still, it is a “Star Trek” episode in its own right, and any fans of the original series will enjoy it. It certainly gave me chills.

The series is being presented mostly on Vimeo, whose streaming delivery is rather slow. This episode is also available on YouTube (the link provided). I will attempt to get Vimeo better connected and provide links to the other episodes.

Enjoy.
