There are many hard parts to living. Take the Serenity Prayer, ‘Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference,’ not a single part of which is easy.
Too often we fight to hold our course, and in so doing we push and shove. Too seldom do we let those around us know how valuable they are to us, of which I am as guilty as any. It is a sad thing too. ‘You catch more flies with honey,’ as another old saying goes.
I try. I falter. I fall. I get up and try again, often making the same mistakes.
I grope. I misstep. I stumble, more often than not over my own feet or my own tongue. I am human.
We are often blind to what we have, or ignore the reality of it for dreams that vanish in the morning light.
Never forget your friends and companions, no matter how you may quarrel. At the end of the day there is nothing else.
