For the days leading up to Thanksgiving, and Thanksgiving day itself, I had been giving thanks to some serious things, pets, friends, family, existence. All good stuff and heart felt.
But let’s face it, we are all thankful for some other sorts of things too.
I am also thankful for:
Chocolate. Oh my, I am so very thankful for chocolate. I cannot get enough. Peace and quiet.
Music, well, the kind of music that I like, and that is a strange list ranging from Al Yankovic to Yes, Beethoven to ZZ Top. Word processing, I prefer WordPerfect to Word, so there Microsoft. Boobs, but not the really big ones. Apple Pie. “The Daily Show.” Tiny butts, sorry Jay Lo. “Star Trek,” except for what J.J. Abrams has done to it. Warm weather. Stars, the kind in the sky. “The Lord of the Rings,” the books and the movies. Science and science fiction. Martial Arts. Movies and television. Tacos, both beef and hairy. Computers. Good jokes, both clean and naughty. Aircraft and parachutes. Water and the ability to swim and dive. Asthma inhalers. Shoes. Warm socks. Milk (with chocolate). A warm bed and someone to bounce with.
